Clive James & Gore Vidal on religion (1978).

On  yesterday’s edition Head to Head (BBC Radio 4), available on the BBC iPlayer for the next six days, presenter Edward Sturton, philosopher AC Grayling, and theoligist Alister McGrath came together to discuss the 1978 encounter between two atheists, the novelist, essayist and all-round man of letters Gore Vidal and Clive James, whose debate centered on the question of how Christianity has affected mankind’s ability to think and live freely.

Head to Head, at a quarter of an hour, is altogether too short to do this kind of thing well. This edition left this listener wishing for more of James and Vidal and less of Sturton and his guests.
