Clive James & Australian Prime Minister’s Literary Award 2

On August the 22nd I noted in this diary that Clive James’  Cultural Amenesia  was  on the non-fiction short list for the 2008 (Australian) Prime Minister’s Literary Awards.  

The award, which was announced on the 12th of  September, went to South Australian Museum curator Philip Jones who won with Ochre and Rust – Artefacts And Encounters On Australian Frontiers .

Melbourne-based Steven Conte has become the first recipient of the Prime Minister’s $100,000 award for fiction with his debut novel The Zookeeper’s War.
