Words, words, words.

Are schoolchildren getting opportunities of read wide range of books in a way that will better them both as people and readers, or are they just simply acquiring from their schooling a standard of literacy that will get them through government prescribed tests? John Naughton touched on this question in May the 20th online diary entry Books are better and it again crops up in an article (Read any great software lately?) by Chris Arnot which appears in today’s edition of the Education Guardian.

Read them and weep!!!
